May 25 to August 31, 2026
Readers ages 18 and up are invited to join us as we compete against libraries in other Clintons for a summer reading challenge!
We’re taking on readers from the North County Branch Library in Clinton, New Jersey, the Clinton County Libraries in Pennsylvania, the Bigelow Free Public Library in Clinton, Massachusetts, the Clinton Public Library in Clinton, Iowa, the Clinton Public Library in Clinton, Indiana, and the Quisenberry Library in Clinton, Mississippi, to see who can read the most this summer.
Step One: Keep Track of Your Reading
All you have to do is keep track of your reading. You can choose books, magazines, or newspapers, listen to an audiobook, or read anything you can borrow from the library.
Download a Clinton Challenge Reading Log, grab a paper copy from inside the library, or use your own method.
Six times this summer, you’ll report on the number of hours or pages you’ve read. See the table below for dates and deadlines.
You can snip the round from your reading log and drop it off, email your total to clinton@midyork.org, or click here to fill out the online form. Don't forget, one page is equal to one minute of reading.
For every round that you submit your time, you’ll be entered in a raffle to win a fun prize.

Step Three: Check Our Progress
Some readers use a calendar and write their time on each day. Other people know they read every day for the same amount of time. However you want to keep track of your reading is fine!
All participating libraries have agreed that one page is equal to one minute of reading. If it's easier for you, keep track of how many pages you've read and divide by 60. Or, send us the titles of books you've read and we'll do the work.
If you read aloud to someone else, that counts!
