Christian Goodwillie will give an illustrated talk that explores the history of Nevis, the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, its formerly pivotal place in world events and examine efforts to preserve its cultural heritage. Since 2017 Hamilton College staff and students have traveled to the island of Nevis, birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, to assist with the digital preservation of archival materials. This illustrated talk will explore the history of Nevis, its formerly pivotal place in world events, and examine efforts to preserve its cultural heritage.

Christian is the Director and Curator of Special Collections at Hamilton College’s Burke Library.

Prior to the talk, the Friends of the Kirkland Town Library will hold their annual meeting at 6 p.m. to welcome new members and recognize outgoing members. All are welcome to attend the meeting!
