Docent Darby O’Brien will give a talk about the upcoming Norman Rockwell exhibit at Munson Williams.
“The exhibition features iconic images of American scenes painted by the most beloved artist and illustrator of the 20th century. Norman Rockwell illustrated everyday moments in America, featuring diverse races and
nationalities. These story-filled scenes depict American life and the people behind the images – from presidents to postmen. Included in the exhibition will be all 323 Saturday Evening Post covers that Rockwell illustrated from 1916 to 1963, along with full-scale oil paintings, photographs, and drawings. With themes relevant to today, Norman Rockwell will enable visitors to rediscover historical events of the 20th century.” – Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute
The exhibit will be on view from June 11 through September 18.
