Materials list for the Fairy Container Garden
Workshop:
There will be some materials provided for you to use at the workshop such as moss, bark, pinecones, shells, sticks, pebbles, stones, dried plant materials, etc.
As a participant you need to bring:
1. Wide opening flower pot (broken or whole), deep pot saucer, pottery wide opening vessel, or any container that is able to hold the weight and moisture of a small garden. Agway, Lowe’s, Home Depot, florist or nurseries sell them.
2.A layer of pebbles or small rocks on the bottom of the container (for drainage)
3.Soil to fill the container to about 1.5” before the rim of the container
4. Gardening gloves, if you want.
Not necessary but you may want to bring:
5.Any miniature items you’d like to include in your garden such as a bench, chair, arbor, pail, fence – you do not need these, as we can make many items from materials provided. Paddywacks, West Park Row in Clinton sells miniature garden items. Call the store first for hours of operation as they vary!
6.Any fun items that you might find on a walk in the woods – interesting pebbles and stones, sticks, grape vine, pine cones, etc. or perhaps a keepsake item from your travels.
