To mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I Bob Tegart will present a two part program covering the impact of the Great War upon Clinton and the town of Kirkland.
Part I will cover the Home Front and the people at home who endured food, fuel, and other shortages to support the men at the front. The program will include the role of local organizations including churches, the Boy Scouts, the Red Cross and the Home Defense Reserve in the war effort. The war’s end brought hope of peace only to be disturbed by the attack of another enemy, the Spanish Influenza.
