Series Description:
“America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway” is a program series featuring documentary film screenings and scholar-led discussions to enlighten audiences about uniquely American musical genres including blues and gospel, Broadway, jazz, bluegrass and country, rock n’ roll, mambo, and hip hop. Hamilton College/Kirkland Town Library (KTL) is one of fifty locations nationwide that will participate in the “America’s Music” program during 2013.
The program hosted by KTL and Hamilton will run from September through November 2013 and will feature a combination of viewings of American music-related documentaries, discussions, and live concerts. Events will be hosted at several locations around the Clinton, NY area, including at the Kirkland Town Library and at Hamilton College.
