  March 9th    Nutrition- Facts and Fiction- an interactive nutrition myth buster quiz
  March 16th  Meal Planning for Today's Busy Family- an active session on "take out"-a cookbook, not take out food. It seems like cooking has become a lost art and
with some planning, in the long run you save money, time and you invest in your health.

rd  Nutrition Does Not Need to Be Stressful- it is not ironic that stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Learn some practical tips for making
nutrition for you and your family less stressful.

"Hiking the Adirondacks"
The Whites (check out their website) are experienced mountaineers & authors and editors of  several books including  Catskill Day Hikes for All Seasons.   They climbed the 46 High Peaks of the Adirondacks and 8 of the 14000' peaks in CO.  
A new slate of Officers and Board Members will be elected at the Friends April meeting.

  • of the next  Book Sale - July 16 & 17, 2010.
The purpose of this organization shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries; to focus public attention on the library; to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services; to encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library; to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community; and to support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.
The Board of the Friends of the Library meets the first Tuesday of the month, January-June and September-November at 7pm at the library

The Kirkland Town Library has a book delivery service for anyone in the Town of Kirkland who is temporarily or permanently unable to get to the library.
Call 853-2038 to make arrangements for this service.
You can explain your interests to a staff member.
A delivery time will be established.
Delivery and pick-up will be done by Friends of the Library

Library Pottery for Sale!

The Friends of the Library are involved in many programs:

  • A Book Sale on the Village Green, July 2010. Books, puzzles, games, music, videos, and audios are accepted as donations throughout the year in anticipation of the Book Sale.
  • The Holiday Art Show and Jewelry Sale, November 2010 in the Bristol Room of the Library in conjunction with the Shopper's Stroll during the Thanksgiving Holidays. Artists interested in participating in the Art Show or donating jewelry are encouraged to contact the library for further information.
  • Homebound Delivery Service - "Your Library Is a Phone Call Away" - is available to anyone in the Town of Kirkland who is temporarily or permanently homebound.
  • Participation in Community Parades.

Contributions to the Library over the past few years include:

If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Kirkland Town Library, feel free to request a membership application. Membership does not require payment of dues, but any contributions are generously accepted.
